If you have insurance which you wish to use, always inform us of this in advance of your initial appointment with us, as prior approval is required before we can treat you.

How To Use Vhi Direct Pay
VHI Dental Direct Pay
To use VHI Dental Direct Pay in Cavan, you must phone VHI Dental at (046) 9077337 at least 24 hours before your appointment to confirm your benefits and get approval for the dentist. You can then visit any participating VHI Dental network dentist in Cavan, pay only the uncovered portion of the cost, and the dentist will submit the claim directly to VHI for payment.
Here’s a step-by-step guide:
- Find a VHI Dental Network Dentist
Identify a dental practice in Cavan that participates in the VHI Direct Pay scheme. - Phone VHI Dental
Crucially, you must call VHI Dental at (046) 9077337: at least 24 hours before your appointment to get your benefits confirmed and approved by VHI. - Attend Your Appointment
Go to the dentist for your examination, scale, and polish.
If further treatment is needed, the dentist will send a treatment plan to VHI Dental for approval before your next visit. - Pay the Uncovered Cost
After the treatment, you will only pay the dentist for costs not covered by your VHI plan. - Sign the Claim Form
You will need to sign a claim form, which the dentist will have, to authorize the direct payment from VHI.
Key Things to Remember:
- Phone VHI First: You must get pre-approval from VHI Dental to use Direct Pay.
- Pay Your Share: You only pay the portion of the cost that your plan doesn’t cover
- If a patient does not have time to ring Vhi Direct Pay before their appointment, and get pre authorisation, they can simply pay for the dental treatment at Frazer Dental and submit the receipt themselves to Vhi dental.
PRSI
If you are working as self employed or employed & paying PRSI in Ireland for a minimum of 2 years then you may be eligible for a FREE check up and a subsidized dental cleaning once per year .
Dependent Spouses PRSI
If you aren’t working & are a dependent spouse , then ask us about helping you to confirm eligibility for a free check up & subsidized cleaning under your partners PRSI.
Our reception team would be only too happy to confirm your eligibility for PRSI or indeed to help you see if you are eligible under your partner’s PRSI, simply call us with your PPS number number & date of birth .

Conditions for warranty
- to attend regular dental check-ups and dental hygiene treatments at our dental clinic,
- proper oral care and adherence to oral hygiene instructions described by the dentist,must be carried out
- to undergo the maintenance treatment recommended at the dental check-ups, such as denture reline, prosthesis removal or tartar removal, within 30 days,
- to keep the denture clean as instructed and shown by the dentist and only subject it to physiological chewing forces
- not to expose the denture to trauma
- not to have debts to our dental clinic
- the treatment was carried our privately at Frazer Dental
Limitation of warranty
Unfortunately, there are cases that the warranty does not cover
- in the case where the patient does not attend the regular 6-month dental check-ups at Frazer Dental
- in the case where the patient is a heavy smoker or has a poor diet (high in sugar )
- in the case where the patient has a chronic disease that negatively affects the dental health (such as diabetes, epilepsy, osteoporosis, conditions after radiotherapy and chemotherapy),
- in the case where a new allergy or dental disease ( and their consequences ) develops after the dental treatment,
- in case where an alternative treatment was recommended as the best option
- if you have had additional treatments carried out on the tooth since
- in the case of a denture or implant or crown if it is damaged due to bruxism or clenching or inappropriate use (such as dropping the removable denture, or sports injuries),
- in the case where the denture or crown or implant is damaged during an accident,
- in the case where the patient does not wear the mouthguard recommended by the dentist,
- in the case where a patient decides to undergo the treatment and dental work recommended by our dentist at another dental clinic,
- in the case where teeth / restorations are damaged by grinding
- In the case where the fountation dental treatment was carried out at another practice a long time ago , this may affect our ability to provide a definite lifespan for the treatment
- in the case where the implant placement procedure is not performed within the scheduled time.
- In the case where only one side of the proposed dental treatment plan is carried out , even though the treatment on both sides is deemed necessary at the same time or within a given time frame .
