Dr. Rachael Frazer studied dentistry in Trinity College Dublin where she was awarded the Entrance Exhibition Scholarship to Trinity College in 2004. After graduation, she embarked on further study with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and was granted membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin in 2012. Most recently she undertook an additional year’s training in root canal treatments and successfully obtained a Further Certificate in Clinical Endodontics (root canal therapy) from the University of South Glamorgan, Wales in 2015 for root canal treatments.
Rachael has worked alongside world leaders in dentistry. She completed an additional year’s vocational training in Ireland after graduation , then moved to Cardiff for 3 years where she worked as Senior House Officers in Paediatric Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and Restorative Dentistry in the University of Wales and Royal Gwent Hospitals before moving into general dental practice. Rachael gained extensive experience in primary care practice in Ireland and Cardiff before opening Frazer Dental in 2014.
Her caring, relaxed manner makes her ideally suited to treating phobic adults and children and her aim is to help you overcome your fear of the dentist and achieve the smile you always have dreamed of.
Dr Rachael has a particular interest in paediatric dentistry , the link between children’s dental health and their diet & she is very good with anxious children who might have had a less positive dental experience previously. She uses the most up to date methods to restore children’s teeth with stainless steel crowns, fillings and protective fissure seals. Children love a visit to the dentist with Dr Rachael as it is fun , and there is always a reward for the child at each visit .
Dr Rachael works alongside our orthodontist at Frazer Dental to plan children’s dental needs in a holistic forward thinking way from a young age. This is vitally important if your children’s teeth are developing in an unusual way.
Children with weakened enamel / white / brown spots known as MIH can have cosmetic treatments such as Icon performed by Dr Rachael to improve their confidence and enhance their smile.

Dr Mahmood , a Belfast native, is our advanced cosmetic dentist here in Frazer Dental. He qualified from Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry in Plymouth in 2013 and since then has pursued advanced training in cosmetic dentistry through a post graduate certificate in restorative dentistry from the world renowned Tipton Training Academy, as well as many courses in composite bonding, facial aesthetics, tooth wear, orthodontics & dental implants.

Originally from Kerry, Dr Joseph Griffin qualified with a degree in Chemistry from UCC in 2006. He then went on to do a further degree in dentistry, graduating with honours. After graduating, Joseph gained extensive experience in dentistry during four years in practice in Cumbria and Scotland, before returning to Ireland in 2017. Dr Griffin has completed additional qualifications in Dental Implants, Cosmetic Dentistry and Orthodontics, and is also undertaking an MSc in Endodontics ( root canals ) .
Dr Griffin enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is particularly skilled at placing and restoring dental implants, cosmetic dentistry and root canal treatments along with all types of fillings, crowns and dental bridges.
Dr Joseph has a special interest in Endodontics ( root canal treatments ) . He accepts referrals from his fellow dental colleagues in the surrounding area for root canal treatments. Dr Hegarty is one of the most highly qualified orthodontists in Ireland and a valuable member of the Frazer Dental team.
He is a Consultant Orthodontist in Cork University Hospital. He treats everyone from age 6 to 66 with braces .
He uses removable braces and functional appliances in young children to help guide jaw growth and to help prevent children needing traditional braces.
He also provides a wide range of cosmetic braces for adults. Dr Hegarty is one of the few orthodontists in Ireland who practices lingual orthodontics ( Incognito braces ), whereby the brace is placed on the inside of the teeth making them completely hidden .
David qualified as a dentist in UCC in 1990. He spent his early years in London doing hospital oral and maxillofacial surgery in Whitechapel, Great Ormond Street, University College Hospital, and the Eastman Dental Institute. He trained as an orthodontist in Cork Dental Hospital, and qualified in orthodontics to hospital consultant level in Manchester in 1999.
He has worked as a consultant orthodontist in the Irish health service to date, training orthodontists managing cleft palate patients, jaw surgery cases, and dental implant patients as well as line managing HSE services.

Dr Clarke graduated from Dundee University in 2009.
Following this he has worked in a variety of hospital, general practice and specialist settings .
Successfully completed his DCT3 and MFDS before obtaining membership to the Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh in 2011. He completed a clinical MSc in Orthodontics from the University of Warwick and is currently in his final year of a 7 year PGDipOrtho to further enhance his orthodontic skill set.
Dr Clarke works with the South Eastern Trust of Northern Ireland, providing training to midwifery students in diagnosis and treatment of infant tongue ties. Repair of infant tongue ties is something Dr Clarke has a particular interest in, and is currently writing a dissertation paper on the effects and best treatment for this condition. Parents may contact us directly or request a referral from their medical provider. Assessment and treatment can be undertaken on the same day and Dr Clarke is always happy to discuss all aspects of treatment and aftercare in full.
He is a registered provider of clear aligners for straightening teeth, alongside providing adult and child orthodontics using fixed metal or aesthetic ceramic braces. This can be paired with tooth whitening and composite bonding to achieve the best smile for each patient.
Composite bonding has become one of the biggest areas of cosmetic dentistry in recent years , Dr Clarke particularly enjoys reshaping peg shaped lateral teeth & midline diastema ( gap ) closure with composite . Dr Clarke provides the full range of composite bonding techniques including edge bonding , tooth reshaping & composite veneers .
His oral surgery clinic sees patients within Frazer Dental as well accepting referrals from other practices. Complex extractions, wisdom tooth removal and other soft tissue surgeries are undertaken with an emphasis on making the experience as gentle and comfortable for the patient as possible. Patrick graduated from Newcastle University in 2013. After his foundation year he completed a year training in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, gaining experience in oral cancer diagnosis and treatment, management of facial trauma as well as surgical removal of teeth including wisdom teeth.
Following this he trained in dental implants with the renowned Tipton Dental Academy. Shortly after this he completed a year long certificate course in periodontal disease at Perioacademy with the highly regarded Hatem Algareffe. During this time, Patrick developed a deep interest in periodontology and the ways one can enhance or damage your periodontal health. His deep understanding of periodontitis and its risks factors such as diabetes, smoking, family history of gum disease etc mean he is very good at explaining and modifying these risk factors for his patients.
Patrick has a passion for diagnosing and treating gum disease (periodontal disease) with the most up to date techniques. He works alongside our dental hygienist Imelda to ensure our perio patient’s gum health is maintained to the highest standards. He also works closely with our inplantologist Dr Juliana to ensure restorative cases are managed with a mutildisciplinary approach.
His main interests are in gum disease treatment include deep cleaning of gum pockets (known as root surface debridement), regeneration of bone using emdogain and using crown lengthening to restore teeth and prevent tooth loss.
Outside of work Patrick is a busy dad, golfer and gadget repair enthusiast.

Dr James Rooney qualified in dental surgery from Queen’s University in Belfast in 1998 . In 2000, he obtained further qualifications in conscious sedation and anxiety control. James was clinical director of a dental practice in Bangor, County Down for 16 years before joining our team at Frazer Dental in 2023. He has been a trainer of dentists for the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency for 5 years.He was an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons , General dental Council and the Eastman Dental Hospital in London for 3 years.
In more recent years he developed an interest in facial aesthetics, as well as the use of botulinum toxin in the treatment of migraine , headaches , jaw pain (TMJD) and for sweating ( hyperhidrosis) .
Dr James was awarded a Certificate in botulinum toxin and facial aesthetics from Medics Direct in Manchester and an advanced certificate in facial aesthetics from Genesis Academy in Amritsar , India . James has been successfully treating patients with migraine for the past 20 years and is a member of the international association for the study of headaches. He has published a number of papers in the Journal of Stress Medicine. He also uses advanced techniques to treat smoker’s lines, the décolletage area & bunny lines. Dr Juliana , our resident implantologist is without doubt one of Ireland’s most experienced implantologists with over 30 years of clinical experience in placing dental implants . She provides the full scope of dental treatments from single tooth implants right up to full arch ‘ all on 4 ‘ dental implant restorations here in County Cavan at Frazer Dental.
She graduated from the University of Venezuela in 1987, and subsequently obtained an MSc in periodontics (gum surgery) in 1990. She has earned an excellent international reputation in periodontology and implantology since then and is continually striving to provide only the most up to date latest techniques in the fields of dental implants and periodontology. Dr Juliana’s husband is Irish which led her to Ireland . She was the first dentist to perform frozen bone grafting in Ireland. Her clinical
research interest focuses on bone-grafting, and she is currently co-writing an article on frozen bone grafting for a peer-reviewed publication.

Imelda provides pain-free tooth cleaning through a combination of pre numbing sprays, and gels applied to your gums before the treatment is done meaning a tooth cleaning appointment with Imelda is one of a kind.
