A dental crown is a cap made to cover a tooth, to encircle it , and prevent a tooth from breaking.

A crown can also be used to improve the appearance of a tooth which has chipped/ broken, got a large filling in it or is  discoloured/stained.

What types of crowns do you offer at Frazer Dental?

We offer 2 types of crowns:

1. Traditional crowns made of porcelain and metal
2. New all ceramic crowns ( aesthetic crowns with no metal)

Which teeth need crowns most?

• A tooth which has had a root canal treatment, will need a crown to prevent it from breaking and improve the colour  of the tooth as often a root canal treated tooth darkens over time.
• A tooth which has a large filling in it would usually benefit from a crown to prevent it from cracking.
