Dr Patrick Gaunt joined our team here at Frazer Dental in April as our resident gum dentist. He is a very friendly dentist with a special interest in all things related to gum disease & periodontal health / periodontics which has made him a very welcome addition to the Frazer Dental team. He works alongside our dental hygienist Imelda to ensure healthy gums for our patients, especially those affected by periodontal (gum) disease. Dr Patrick’s Special interests are :

• Diagnosis & Management of gum disease ( periodontics )
• Regeneration of bone using emdogain
• Non surgical management of gum disease using deep cleaning
• Surgical management of gum disease that hasn’t responded to non surgical management
• Single tooth crown lengthening to allow restoration of a tooth (which would otherwise be unrestorable)
• Liasing with our dental implantologist to ensure gaps are restored with dental implants or bridges.

What treatment does Dr Patrick provide for gum recession?

Dr Patrick provides aesthetic composite restorations to manage gum recessions, reduce sensitivity and improve appearance . He also uses periodontal splints where necessary but he does not provide gingival grafts.

What treatment can be provided for mobile teeth?
Specialized Periodontal cleaning called root surface debridement can be used to tighten up teeth in the gums , as well as periodontal splints to stabilize lose teeth helping them to last for longer.

Dr Patrick Gaunt works in conjunction with our resident dental hygienist Imelda Staunton to ensure optimal gum health for all our patients . Dr Patrick provides periodontal treatments for the Cavan, Meath , Louth & Monaghan areas .

We have been contacted in the last month by patients of White House Dental in Castleblayney due to the untimely passing of Dr Elese Pottie. The news of Dr Elese’s death has shocked and saddened us all.

Some of these patients were having orthodontics / braces & 6 month smiles cases carried out by Dr Elese & are in need of urgent care.

What are children’s stainless steel crowns?

Are you looking for a solution for the decay in your children’s teeth ?

A kid’s crown effectively covers or “caps” a tooth, returning it to its normal size and shape while ensuring the tooth doesn’t break further & usually stays on the tooth until the tooth naturally falls out .
